HYULU HILLS ~ Altitude 3000-7000 ft. ~ Area c. 2000 sq. km.

The Chyulu Hills are considered to be one of the youngest mountain ranges in the world comprising of volcanic cones, covered with grass and extensive stands of forest. These hills remain relatively unexplored and, except for the Masai, are quite uninhabited. There are long dreamy panoramas of Mt. Kilimanjaro and the vast rolling plains are home to many different wildlife species. As part of the huge Tsavo National Park, the wilderness is exceptional.

 

GAME LIST ~ Elephant, hippo, Cape buffalo, Masai giraffe, East African eland, Burchell’s zebra, white-bearded wildebeest, Coke’s hartebeest, impala, Grant’s gazelle, Thomson’s gazelle, warthog, lesser kudu, gerenuk, oryx, lion, leopard, cheetah, spotted hyena, silver-backed jackal, bat-eared fox and more.
